Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 650

How many pieces is this originally?

I think possibly about 15 pieces. i had to break down the larger marco rock pieces with a hammer. The foundation pieces really helped though with their flat bottoms.

Made enough water the last two days to fill the tank.

I love those rocks you made. Those water storage containers are pretty sleek too. They definitely look nicer than my two 55 gallon barrels.

You’ll definitely be the coolest dentist on the block with your reef tank. ;)

Thanks its been a long time coming. Its funny, I got those containers long ago, had the closet built to fit the containers and made sure there was a tank that would fit the remaining space.

Got some shelves installed today. The reef genesis awc works really well. Tested it today with a few cycles. Water has cleared up a bit too. Not sure what to do with the ato reservoir that came with the tank. Any ideas?

Tank is cycled. Have been dosing ammonium chloride. Still waiting on my custom clearview lid before adding fish. Worked a bit on installing my UV in the closet today. Planning on running 300gph.

Yes, I want to only run 300-400 GPH through the UV. I have it on a DC pump that does about 600gph on the low setting. I have it pumping from the drain side of the sump to the UV to the return side of the sump.

I gave up on the idea of doing a qt. I figured there was no way I would be able to qt incoming coral, so I figured I was never going to keep out all pests. Hence the UV at low flow.

What did you think about the uv when setting it up?
Seems built very sturdy. I liked the included mounting brackets. The quartz sleeve and bulb installation is a bit weird. I think you gotta take out the sleeve to replace the bulb easily maybe. I hadn’t seen a bulb like that before where the pins were not hard connected to the bulb but had a few inches of loose wires connecting the bulb to the pins. Made it easier to connect the pins, but harder to get the bulb into the sleeve.

I actually didn't measure the flow. Probably should at some point but since I am focused on dinos/algae, I was told it was less critical.

I am running the 3" 55w.
