Our mission

Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 650

Updated shots in almost all blues. I think the fungia might be my favorite.

Sorry to hear about the clam
But the corals are looking very happy
Yes, I finally got my nitrates up to where I want them. Phosphates are still very low. I've been having to dose a tiny bit of phosphates now. I also just got the fuge up going to try to outcompete the algae in the tank. All in all there are a couple of SPS that don't look too happy, but not bad with over 40 frags currently glued to my rock work.

How did you get your nitrates up? To what level?

Right now I have them at 20. I started dosing nitrates (stump remover) at about 2-3ppm a day and increased my feeding. It honestly got high too quick (mainly from increased feeding), but I want to keep it in the 15-20 range. When it got too high (it peaked at about 25ppm) for my liking I noticed my phosphates were still very low, that is when I started dosing phosphates a bit. Now I am just keeping it up with feeding. Auto feeder with pellets and some frozen (mysis and rods).

Some quick shots with my phone

Even your phone pics are great. That first acan growth-melt-look around the edges is very cool.
Yup they encrust like other corals. They key to getting them to grow well is to make it easy for them to grow. I place epoxy up the the edge of the skeleton so its easy for the acans to spread.

Top down photo update. Everything is doing well.
