Reef Nutrition

[Does anyone have ever mix together Roti Feast, Oyster feast and Arcti Pods food? is it safe to mix them all at once in the same container and then add to the tank to feed the reef?
Any advice is appreciated

Thanks

Gus

Good question. I can't think of a reason why not, but I'm sure Gresham can chime in to confirm/deny it. It sure would make it more convenient for me to dose rather than using 4 bottles each time.

Oyster Crack is more like it, I feed my tank in the middle of the day, and within a few minutes my LPS that normally only open up at night have feeders out. I wasn't aware that particles of that size was of interest to them though.

None of our products should be mixed alone meaning with out saltwater. If mixing together for immediate use we suggest first putting tank water in the container then add the products you want to mix. Never mix them together with out first adding the tank water. Never mixed them together for storage together.

I assume I just spoke with you on the phone Gus? It's not every day I get asked about mixing those products together :)

I mixed the roti feast, Oyster feast and DT, my corals are takin it with no problem. dont see any side effects yet. Then again, its only been a week.

See the post I made on the anemone thread regarding what they eat, it's very relevent to this conversation as it applies to most LPS as well :)

You shouldn't see any any side effects as it doesn't harm the feed unless your trying to do so for storage. Some of our products are base and some are acid. We all know what that does when mixed ;)

I am disturbed your mixing DT's in there though ;) Our products enjoy being mixed with other quality and non smelly products

I mix Oyster Crack, Rotifers and Arcipods with the cup of tankwater that has my pre-made meaty food to feed all at once, but vary the amount and mostly it's just a small squirt from each bottle. I also squirt the oyster crack directly onto the frozen food to help it thaw before I chop it up and feed to fish or LPS. Figure it can only add nutrition.

GreshamH

Yes it was me. The guy on the phone. Thanks for the info. That will make feeding a little easier.

Thanks to every one for the input given.

Any effort done on mixing oyster feast and artipods (are they acid/base compatible?) Those two would be quite convenient for the ultra lazy if they could be mixed.

If and when we come out of artipods we'll try mixing it with Oyster-Feast :p

They are the same so they could probably be mixed right now. We have done work with all of them and continue to do work with them. One problem with releasing mixed products of standing products in our line is that creates internal competition. We may sell the same amount of bottles but less of each which creates either older bottles on the retailers shelf or us having to downsize the batch which I detest. I'll ask today if there would be any ill effects to end users mixing those two. Each mix is specialized to the bio-mass and characteristics of each product. In theory you may defeat the properties of one by adding it to another.

I have mixed the products together like a 1 to 4 ratio the 4 being water.
this is my formula
5 ml of Roti Feast
5 ml of Oyster Feast
5 ml of Artic Pods
60 ml of aquarium water
and I feed this in two feeding during the day like once in the morning and the other in the evening.
I do it 3 times a week.

Gresh, is their any issue with dumping the stuff directly into the tank before mixing it with some water beforehand? I've never done so. Usually I just invert the bottles and do: 10 drops of oyster, 10 drops of phyto, 5 drops of artipods (also a thumbnail amount of frozen cyclopeeze and rod's food).
