Sharing some of my RAP 2018 experience for those who didn’t make it down:
First, some of the conference swag:
I was excited to get samples of an all-in-one alk/Ca/trace supplement (calcium formate). I will try this out on my quarantine tank where I would be hesitant to setup more than one doser.
I spoke with Lou Ekus at Tropic Marin about the possibility of giving a videoconference talk to BAR about reef chemistry. We could build an event such as potluck or pizza at someone’s house around it.
Dr Tim’s gave out a fish food powder that you mix with boiling water, then freeze in a cube tray (which they sell separately). You can add whatever other supplements you want to make DIY frozen food.
Kessil announced their new Tuna Blue + RGB puck, A360X. It’s “X” because it comes as a “W” wide angle source, but you can buy an accessory lens to convert it to “N” narrow.
Although the configurability is a plus, the A360X will cost about $100 more than the A360W/N and the narrow conversion lens is additional.
And corals - I didn’t go there for the LPS but they made for the best photos.
