Hi everyone, starting a new tank journal since I upgraded to a bigger 50g Innovated marine Lagoon tank. I can’t say it’s been the best transition but I’m glad I got a bigger and better tank than what I started off with last year.

I started this tank april 5th and did a 3 week cycle with new live sand and a new rock scape. I transferred everything over from my old tank other than the sand so I can get my bio filtration up and running quickly. It started off pretty good then a few weeks into it I started to develop Dinoflagellates that was all over my rocks and corals. I did extensive research and put in a lot of time and effort to get rid of it. Although I lost a lot of prized corals from it, I was able to beat the Dinos and stabilize the bio diversity and built up the good bacteria to beat out the dinos. I still see them from time to time but nothing to be concerned about.

fast forward 4 months and the tank is starting to get its color back, and corals are starting to show signs of growth. I started to dose 1ml of kalk every hour as a supplement to my 3 part dosing to help boost Ph higher in my tank. I’m also dosing Red Sea ABCD once a week for additional trace elements. Doing an icp test soon to make sure my elevens are all stable. Hope that it continuous to thrive and move in the right direction these next few months. The tank has been consuming more major elements so looking forward to its growth in the next few months.

Thank you! I feed red sea ab+ Oyster feast and live phytos. And for fish just frozen mysis and TDO pellets.

Finally got my par to where I want it in the tank, I was cooking this tank with par reading a to the mid 600’s! I’m just glad I didn’t lose anything, but things weren’t looking happy so I knew something was up.

I also have a reefbrite I got in the brs sales that comes on which adds about 30-50par to all my readings for about 3 hours. Then end the night with only reefbrites to get the evening blues. Curious to see how everything colors up better and grows with the correct par readings.
