Sea Swirl Sea Sweeps

I didnt think they made them anymore..I used the wavy sea back in the early 2000's. Picked it up from Ming over at Atlantis Aquarium when he was still in Union City. Similar to the sea swirls but were able to handle a reeflow hammerhead return pump. It worked great for random flow, but like alot of things in the hobby, it broke down and the manufacturer went out of business.

Whenever I see them now, people have tunzes hanging off them.

I thought this was a fish. But this pump is very popular in German tanks, specifically in well-run tanks. I also saw them in a nice public aquarium I visited last summer. Mounting seems a bit the issue but the random flow direction seems desireable.

I looked at a tank for sale a few years ago and the girl had two of these each back corners of tank..She had one down two feet near the bottom that she extended the down tube/ pole. Looked cool and universal works with most any powerhead/ wavemakers. Just hard to find !! Plus 1/3 the price but never looked at Alibaba

I was looking for something like this. Thanks Paul.

Thanks looks looks like the Pacific model can handle larger wave makers maybe a stronger down pole and more universal
The issue I saw with the coral box was the down pole was flexing causing the power head to rub on the glass.. now that frag holder add on may prevent that on using larger heads..

These were extremely popular back in the days. I ran a couple of 3/4” Sea Swirls on my TruVu cube and loved them. They do require a relatively strong return pump for them to work well. It’s a bit bulky with use on todays rimless setups IMO.
