A few good ideas rolling around in the official frag swap thread, but rather than gunk up that thread with what is being brought I thought it is good to have one dedicated to corals that you are bringing.

One of the comments was pictures of the full sized colonies on the container... well not having a color printer nor a laminating machine this will have to do, keep in mind this is simply my own method of listing corals, and in no way should be representative of what you do, if you just want to type stuff out that works too :D

In addition to my labels on the containers I'll also have a code MIKE-XXX# so if you see something that gets your fancy you can make a note of the code and simply look for that rather than the coral, as corals do have a tendency (zoas especially) to close up.

I wasn't planning on a bringing a TON of frags, however if you see something that really interests you let me know, and I can make sure to make a few extra frags of that to increase chances, either post here or PM me.

Unless noted corals are on bottom of 24" tank, 250W metal halides, and 1 T5 (either blue or actinic), minor white balancing done.

The only SPS I'm bringing, a purple stylophora : MIKE-SPS1

Two LPS (of note) that I'm bringing
Red blastomusa wellsi with green eye - MIKE-LPS1

Pink center "favia" - MIKE-LPS2

A number of zoas, this is the main reason for this list because these buggers always close up, don't ask me about names, I've seen one zoa that looked the same to me and have 4 different "names"

MIKE-ZOA1

MIKE-ZOA2 aka Pretty Pretty Princess Sparkle Zoas :D

These next two pictures are in my "junky I didn't want to crowd my main tank" tank... lit via LEDs, mostly royal blue, although I moved the whiter ones over just to show more the colors without fluorescence, there's maybe a cluster of 4 Cree LEDs run at 700mA, with 40° optics maybe 16" above them to give you an idea of lighting. FYI Royal Blue LEDs will grow that green algae in the pictures like crazy!

MIKE-ZOA5 & MIKE-ZOA6
mikezoa56.jpg

MIKE ZOA7 & MIKE-ZOA8 Not sure if 6 & 8 are the same the centers look similar but the "Skirts" are a bit different, I think one is an "Armor of God" and the other is "Armageddon" or something equally silly, blame Norman on one of those names!

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you, and again if any of them make you drool right now, let me know and I'll make sure to make a few more frags of those.

If your a n00b will no coral yet to speak of, are we still allowed to come? Denzil and I would love to stop by. =)

Can't wait to get corals up and going so we can participate in frag swaps and DBTC!! :D

**Sorry guys, I posted this in the wrong thread and now I can't figure out how to delete my comment >

^^

You could always buy a few frags to participate. Just be able to keep whatever you pickup :) Even if you come with no frags, I'm sure you won't go home empty handed

Potentially bringing some combination of the following...

Sunset monti
Chili Pepper monti
Strawberry patch monti? Err...Strawberry fields? Something strawberry...
Rastas
Darth Mauls
BamBams
Tyree NG Toadstool
Frogspawn
Tyree war

Geez... Whatever time/energy permits me to frag.

Rainbow Monti
Purple haze Monti

You can come and certainly won't go home empty-handed!

Now would be a good time to get those frags ready/inspect them for pests. Some members have been blindly passing around monti-eating nudibranchs in the last 6 wks I have heard. Don't put them in the swap if they're infected, check them now if you're unsure, and certainly don't introduce them to your tank unless youve inspected and cleaned them. Practice safe swapping!

Yes, please try to bring healthy in infected corals, and assume everything you take home has all sorts of pests on it. Be prepared to dip and ideally have a qt system to observe new corals for awhile after the swap

I'm going home empty-handed because my tank's not set up yet. However, I will definitely participate in any conversation regarding corals. :)

Green rice coral
Sunset monti
Green with purple tip acro
Lavender candy cane
Blue tip tenuis
New Alameda Aquatics green polyp unknown softie
