Single ended metal halide bulb - use the glass shield?

I am thinking of going to 250 watt Radium single ended bulbs.
The fixture I found is a Reef Brite 36" dual 250 watt SE with XHO LED strips.
I am going to change out the XHO strips to Quanta Helix Meso Blues.
The MH pendant part has a glass insert.
I don't believe the glass insert is required for SE bulbs.
Does anyone know if having the glass insert installed helps with the cooling?
I've messaged Reef Brite and am waiting on a response.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Glass shields increase heat..The glass on SE bulbs are UV shielded so you technically don’t need the extra glass shield. Used them alot in green houses up high but still used shields since lost a few bulbs from water misting.. Saltwater alot worse make sure you get the right replacement shields or use glass designed for high heat!
There are several reefers on here that use MH bulbs still

Last thing you want is a splash of water shattering an extremely hot glass bulb.
