Gen went with 1/2" sides? With my tank he didn't want to do 1/2" sides. Weird. He said he would only make it with 3/4" (I didn't end up going with Gen). And my tank is smaller than yours. Did he say how big of an eurobrace?

Gen doesn't like doing open tops, he'll do Eurobracing, but open top is a whole different beast. I'd imagine he'll use a 3/4"x3", it's fairly standard.

A little more progress to report for this weekend.

We fit the plywood top to the stand and cut out the hole for the bulkhead and plumbing.

We also took out some old ducting that led to what use to be a wood burning stove, yes-only in an ancient Sunset home. :)
I wish I had a photo of the before, but here is the new ducting above the tank area (duct closest to you in the pic).

It use to hang down another 8-10" with a trap door at the end of it. We should have had a mask and goggles on when we opened that sucker.

My husband ordered a few goodies for me this weekend, I will post pics when they come in ;D

I think I may need 1 more of those vortechs. I still need to find a good reef controller as well.

I am planning to go the BAYMAX, hope you are right :)

If I setup another one after this one, I will need to plant some money trees in the yard soon. :D

At least you know where to get those $$ tree. For me, I would have to go sleep in the tree in the backyard. :-[
