"The Lab" - Josh and Tiffany's IM Nuvo EXT 200

Aquamaxx reactor manifold is attached to two clamps tapped into the stand; it'll be further supported by another clamp on each side for the plumbing going into/exiting from the manifold.

The reactors themselves are hanging; but it's something I've seen done in previous large builds so I'm not too worried about it.
Looking good

Finished and cemented the manifold. Moving on to the UV next.

The good: I got almost everything glued in for the returns.

The bad: I did not realize, until I'd glued fittings into the bulkheads, that the bulkheads are ABS, and I'd used PVC cement. D'oh. If it was a drain I wouldn't be worried, but this will be under pressure, so... Gotta redo it.

I get it that you’re not supposed to, but I’ve joined many an ABS bulkhead with pvc cement. Some drains, some returns. I haven’t had one leak yet. *Knock on wood*

I don’t think we have enough pressure in the lines on our tanks to really stress out that connection. Maybe @Srt4eric has a better (accurate) answer.

Apparently that's the official take from Synergy Reef as well, so... No redoing it!

Got the drains cemented in today and the hole drilled for the power cord for the iPad display. I'm going to hard plumb the Vectra M2 tomorrow and then, on Thursday, I'll be able to do the remaining connections and pick up the L2 from @Coral reefer . Aiming to have water in it by Saturday!

Been busy between yesterday and today! Rockwork placed inside the tank (which is always the most nerve-wracking part to me...)

Got the plumbing finished:

Started filling the sump...

And adding sand + filling the tank!

Had three small leaks with my plumbing: two were halves of elbows that I'd missed gluing after dry-fitting, and the third was the right return bulkhead that I had to clamp down REALLY tight. Got them re-cemented, tested, and my manifold + return have had no leaks so far.

Aiming to finish filling it up tomorrow, mixing in salt to 1.015, testing ammonia, and adding 500 gallons' worth of bottled bacteria to kickstart the cycle.
