Hello,
I set up a Trident for the first time. I was just checking the usage for my reagents and this is what I got below. Does the ratio seem correct? The A reagent is a little below 50% while the B and C reagents are around 65%.
Thanks
G

That’s a little high on the b and c. 4-1-1 per day. If I remember correctly. I hacked mine years ago. I only test A once a day and B and C once a week.

How do you do this? I want to check alk frequently but only when the lights are on. I could care less about b/c. If I could only test Alk that would be great.

Thanks. Next question, how do I hack it to reduce the number of tests?

You know what would hella help. A small filter on the end of the pick up tube. Those passages are so easy to get clogged

I had that issue with some detritus that came off some live rock settling in the sump and getting into the line. I picked up a couple of these and haven't had a clog since.

Just be careful reducing the number of tests, if the tubes dry out it is a big pain to clear them and keep things running. My thoughts here are to get the ABC reagents to reduce cost and run the tests the normal amount.
Thoughts on just running and testing reagent A. Will this be a problem?

When I sent mine in for the Trident replacement thing they gave me an intake filter with the new unit. I had the impression they were doing that standard. Maybe not.

Oh maybe they do now. Dunno. I’ve been running mine for 3-4 years ?
