Verify: Can Use Short USB Cable in Place of Aquabus

Do not want to mess up my new Apex. In cabinet my Apex base unit and a couple modules are connected by long aquabus cables but are positioned just inches apart. Can I safely use short standard USB cables (contain no repeaters obviously) for connection? Am I risking harm to the base unit?

Yes. I use usb cables. They are the as aqua is cables.

Just making sure nothing had changed in the past ten years with subbing in short runs of USB.
