I think small meetups every month would be great! It could boost the amount of DBTC and help trades. Also more events will make it more likely for location and schedule to work for members.

We used to have an event once a month and we would publish events months in advance for planning. Anyone down to do an SF tank tour? Anyone want to show? If we can get 5-7 tanks, it would make for a fun day. A potluck in between at one of the participants. Can make sales, trades, dbtc, etc

Steinhart tour, Monterey Bay Aquarium tour. Any coral grow out contests this year?

Cool! Definitely a great idea! A Steinhert or Monterey bay aquarium tour would be awesome too!

Maybe @MichaelB would want to take the lead and organize something? I think that these types of smaller events would be more popular as regional things. I don’t think a lot of east bay people would come down to South Bay for a meetup, and vice verse. But smaller regional events I think would allow more people to get to know each other. The swaps are nice to meet people but it’s hard to hold a conversation there with all the rounds of actual swapping.

I would definitely be on board to getting regional meet ups going. It would be cool if someone from each north, south, and east bay would be willing to step up and be the point person for their section of the bay.

I would say the peninsula folks could pretty much go to whatever event they decide to being in the middle of everything.

Let's come back to this after the swap is over. Than we can possibly figure something smaller in each region for either march, or April.

I will start a brainstorming thread for meet up ideas next week and we can take things foward from there.
