    Good topic of discussion…

maybe it's the LFS you buy your fish from? I mean our Mandarins (Biota), and CBB (HT) are awesome fish and doing very well, with no special diet. Yet for some reason we have had at least 5 Bangaii die on us :(

Treatment tank needed in Monterey County

Good morning, and welcome. My wife and I went through an ich outbreak in our 90 gallon. It was quite the heartbreak to be honest. In your treatment have you used Polyplab Medic? This was recommended to us by LFS, and it did work. But we did some other things as well. We raised the tank temp to...

LF: Copperband feeder and a large acclimation box

A little late to the party, but I really recommend High Tide. We got our CBB from him, and it eats just about everything we toss in the tank. We had CBBs from other vendors, tried to train them, gave them lots of pods and eventually they both died. The later may have been due to an ick outbreak...

playing with the 50mm 1.4 and Tiffen 85b filter

Just a playful shot of the stars of our tank. Our two clowns, our CBB and fox face which are always together. I had my room lights off, and the tank is going to bed so the Radions are at 30%. Camera is at ISO 2000, f:1.4, and a shutter speed of 120.No color correction in PS only crop and resize...

Looking for a fish tank lens for my Canon DSLR

so I shifted from the 100mm to my Canon 50mm 1.4. The 50mm 1.4 is known to be an awesome portrait lens, and so I literally gave it a shot. I don't have an anti glare hood, or a filter for the 50 yet. And the photos came out good. Again nothing that color correction in PS can't fix. Also I did...

    Co2 Refills

RASA Garden Supply in San Jose carries 10 and 20 pound cylinders in stock, and their prices are very reasonable. Also they are open 7 days a week normally.

Looking for a fish tank lens for my Canon DSLR

The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L seems to be the recommended lens for tank photography. Thoughts? Only stipulation is autofocus is a must. I can't shoot with my glasses on, and so I really rely on the camera to focus for me.

My favorite topic - dosing pump tubing

if you have an Outdoor supply or Ace Hardware (not HD or Lowes) they have really nice assortment of hose barbs. I have had good luck with Outdoor Supply.

My home made water change cart

New AF "All-in Skim 4-in-1" Skimmer

I thought about running ozone in my 90, but ultimately decided against it. Also the way my sump is set up, I couldn't fit that in the sump.

    Custom Aquarium Lids

my 30 gallon came with a TopLids cover. I like it, it has a hole for feeding, and it is nicer than having the original biocube lid.

3rd party reef mat for Red Sea Reef Roller

Thought I had a good thing when I found rolls on Amazon for my RM500. Two rolls for $22 vs $25 per roll for Red Sea. First couple of rolls where pretty much identical to the Red Sea rolls, and performed the same. I load the last roll in about 2 weeks ago, and I know about every 2 hours it rolls...

Qckslvr and Mrs 90 gallon Oceanic tank build

been a minute, but a small update! Our 90 gallon is reaching a point that it requires very little effort to keep it happy. We are still doing weekly 20 gallon water changes, but the water being sucked out is almost crystal clear. No yellow tinge that I can see. The ick I am sure is still in...
