Hey Jim, perhaps I'm misinterpreting what you mean on point 2 ... I always thought that warmer solutions meant that solids would dissolve easier while colder temps makes it harder to dissolve. For this reason one had to adjust the salinity / SG measurements slightly when comparing mixed water...

Robert, I did the same (bottom drain) in my new setup and it has proved very helpful ... so easy to drain the entire tank without any hoses, pumps, etc.

Try some frozen cyclopeze ... they should take to that. BTW, if they are 2" total length from tip of nose to tip of tail, they are pretty large ... well over a year or even two to reach that size, so they should take to larger meaty foods no problem.
