    QT opinions

sorry to hijack the thread, I wonder where can you buy "QT'ed" fish? I don't think LFS can do it properly for you. "Used" fish? you don't know if it was treated or managed.

Growout Contest - Bubble Gum Monster Chalice - Now Tracking Growth

I had it the lower 1/3 part on rock and then moved to sandbed, I guess all-for-reef did a good job keeping the water chemistry stable.

Growout Contest - Bubble Gum Monster Chalice - Now Tracking Growth

1-month update: coral has encrusted pretty well and also killed the coral below it, didn't know chalice has long sweepers. I think there are 3 new eyes/mouths. should I leave it like this or get a bigger tile?

    Barbed Reducing Union Adapter?

Hi guys, I recently got a used 40g AIO and it came with 2 AC pumps, I was thinking to replace that with a Jebao DC pump with a Y adapter. The pump comes with 3/4 and 1 barb fitting, but the pump return pipe is 1/2, I tried at HomeDepot they only have 5/8 to 1/2 reducer, what should I do to get...

Do you add additional filter media?

I guess my question is does adding extra actually work or is it just marketing to make you feel better?;)

Do you add additional filter media?

Is adding additional filter media overkill? For example, if you have a 40g tank with 40lbs of rocks and 40lbs of sand, and does not overstock too much, will adding additional filter media like seachem matrix or marinepure help? with current technology, it seems the filter media is very...

Hi guys, not sure if I posted in the correct section, I don't see a general topic subforum so I'll post it here for now. For people with small nano tanks, where to get a good water source for cheap? I have bought RO water from LFS but I noticed some LFS's RO water is not 0ppm, one of them even...

1-part dosing for nano tank? which one do you recommend?

Thanks, great to know! Looks like the difference is polyp lab one doesn't have trace elements like AFR, but AFR sounds too good to be true :D I'd be happy if either can maintain the stable big 3, ca/kh/mg, I think the trace elements can be supplied by weekly water changes and high quality salt?
