So just to clarify, are you offering the colony to be fragged for a growout contest? Is this already a DBTC coral by chance? That would accomplish a couple goals I had in mind for choosing a specimen.

Lol he's not offering that hammer, I thinking it's the pride of his coral collection. If he did it would be like that eye candy tank at Neptunes they make you walk past "price =s how bad do you want it lmao"

For the price he would accpet you could probably buy 4 others of similar size elsewhere

If we can do that, let's buy out @CaseyP Dragon Soul Torch colony The ones I got from him a couple months ago are already starting to split.

I'm not opposed to that but that'd be later 2025 so more heads can grow for distribution.

I have enough GMKs to do a contest of that one, I could sit it out and be a judge. I would still like to participate in another SPS one though!

Mine is not nearly that long anymore, but it's still fluffy. Looking at the top right of your colony, those are 6 inch tentacles??

Not to be fragged anytime soon
The determining factor will be space for the magnet for cleaning

Sound good. I like the quarterly option and runner-up gets something as well . some have been so close only a single vote difference.
In terms of open submission I say try it, if it turns into a bad Idea you can always go back to how it was. I would also say for most of use it's not always a secret who submitted the photos anyway with those who regularly update tank journals in ant case.

If everyone is posting open submissions maybe a good idea if you have a separate locked thread for voting purposes only so photos don’t get burried causing people not to want to hunt to find the pictures during voting time. Some people like to talk alot like myself lol. It would also allow people to include a description of what were are looking at in their photos.

Is there a way to post anonymously? I think a few members know what each others’ tanks look like already but it might still introduce more bias if the name is right there
On the other hand it might inspire people if they see others posting pics

Split prize winnings sounds cool. Maybe some people don’t participate because they don’t feel like they have a chance, and more winners might increase that

Good idea. Usually I see multiple really nice pics and it would be cool to see who posted them even if they didn’t win!
