Anyone using one in the club?

Recent KalamazooReefer videos are interesting. No reagent needed in particular.

Very popular in Germany for a while now. Looks like there are various upgrades/improvements made to the orginal model, and overall a promising device (potentially still not 100% mature though). As with most auto testers, not cheap, but not needing reagents might be worth it, once the user feedback is more consistently positive. I am reading about algae issues in the see-through container, keeping calibration is not always easy to achieve, but potentially due to #user error.

I posted about this a while ago (https://www.bareefers.org/forum/thr...of-alkalinity-without-reagents-aquawiz.36210/), but not much interest back then (most likely because it is not from Neptune or Hydros…).

Anand from Collector's Corals is very helpful and responsive whenever I've reached out. I think DMing him on Instagram @collectorscorals is best, followed by Facebook and email.

If you get one and need help setting up let me know.
Appreciate it! This is the first auto tester I have become interested in. I think because of simplicity, fewer cords and no reagents. How is maintenance?

Digging through notes- last time I checked dKH was January 4th and prior November 9... Sheesh need to step my game up.

Maintenance has been easy so far, I just calibrate once a month with my Hanna. The most it has ever been off from the Hanna is 0.2 dKH I don't have any algae issues since mine is in a cabinet underneath my tank.

I bought some spare peristaltic tubing and have an extra pH probe in case I need them. I should ask Anand what kind of preventative maintenance is recommended.

This is actually very good. Similar to @Patio, I have never been interested in auto tester, but have been watching from the sidelines (for almost a year now) what people are saying about this one. The consistency of measurements by 0.2 dKH deviation is something I only heard recently from others too. The algae issue is only an issue for folks who use their sump as their extended frag tank - or keep the device outside the cabinet - but it is.

Where did you buy this?

I purchased through Anand/Collector's Corals. I think he's the US distributor?

Oh man, I thought these were out of stock. Now I am tempted to buy this…will put this on birthday wish list - when it is too late since I would love to have this before my overseas vacation in June.

Buying this will probably not make sense for me until I have dosing pumps that can be remotely adjusted. I am using the Ecotech Versas.

It seems they may have increased the price recently. I think I remember it being closer to the 800 number. Still not a cheap purchase but you also don't have to spend on replacing the disposable razor blade or reagents.

I am pretty sure the margin on the device is significant but they are pricing it relative to the competing devices which are also high ticket price.

At even 800 vs 675 I’d have to consider the options. The trident you get alk, ca,& mg. With aquawiz you just get alk. For someone like myself who uses AFR-that’s ok-once I get the alk locked in-everything else locks in.

On the other hand Aquawiz you have no reagent -although now running just 2 tests a day with abc reagents only costs me $150 a year.

If I had to choose today -prob go with aquawiz.
