High Tide Aquatics

BAYMAC May 8th at Chabot College

Exactly, even though I do it more as a non profit (haven't taken a dime and sure have paid into it a lot). I am also a non sponsoring vendor (RN) so I really have to watch what I post.

Raffle items are being posted rather often now on the website, on Facebook and on Twitter. If you haven't joined our Twitter feed or become a Facebook fan of ours, we highly urge you to do so. The door prizes will be announced via all three of those, as well as over the loud speakers :)

Every wrist ban has a number and a stub that will be torn off. Those stubs will be what the winner is drawn from.

And of course, you have to be present to win. Winners have a couple minutes to pick it up before the number is redrawn. We're on a time line and time waits for no one.

So the first door prize is announced after the first speaker? So I'm assuming you have to be there by then to qualify?
It also says on the web site that they will post the winning numbers on facebook and twiter, as well as over the loud speaker. So Gresham correct me if I am mistaken you don't have to be in the speakers hall just present at the event.

NCRC was brainstorming for their BAYMAC booth and decided to unwanted DBTC corals at the booth. I made a suggestion and thought BAR might be interested as it represents a way to extend DBTC beyond the self-selected club members...
Why not drive traffic to the site and provide some trackability to the distribution. Offer a 'discount' of $5 (and a postcard with instructions) to anyone willing to agree to join the club and log the coral into the DBTC forum. Just leave a space blank where the person at the table can write in the coral name for ppl who don't know (can't remember etc...). Sure, some or most might not engage but I bet a bunch would. And any DBTC effort is an act of faith in a pay it forward system anyway.

to clarify, we're selling DBTC frags with the donor's approval as regular frags at a discount with the condition that the purchaser joins the site. more of a marketing gimmick than anything really plus we don't know what to do with red planet and sunset monti frags anymore!

we'll see how this turns out.

can't wait to chat it up with you guys next weekend. it sounds like it'll be a blast.

oh gresh:
1. maybe i missed it but how will people eat at the event? will there be a vendor or something?
2. i assume we all have to bring our own saltwater this year right? i assume this is the case but never saw it written so maybe you should announce it so last year's participants don't show up with no water.

RODI is being supplied by Aquatic Collection and the salt mix is being supplied by ESV. I should have ~1K gallons of water. No need to bring your own. Go check out the website and hit the tab for Vendors :D http://thebaymac.com/?q=node/6

Food will be on site, another thing mentioned on the website :p http://thebaymac.com/?q=node/1

I'm sending out the club email today ;)

Well the water part isn't on the Club section so I can see how you missed that :)

 next time I'll add a little hot dog emicon to attract your attention

OK we're 100% booked up this year :D Just filled the last Exhibitor booth.
