I got an ORA frogskin if you ever want to replace it. That thing encrust over anything it touches.

Thank you! I have a second piece growing at the backside of the tank. If anything this works out better as a color background fill, instead of taking up prime show space the big colony was.

Some husky chunks there! I do the same for home decor but have not spent enough time energy to figure out a good base to mount them to. If you come up with a cool solution, please do share.
I was thinking a walnut slab base with threaded rods to have adjustable supports. I'll share if I ever get around to it

3.5 year update. Things are chugging along nicely now that the nutrient issue has been sorted out. I designed and 3d printed a turf scrubber that helped bring down nitrates from 40+ to 15ppm consistently. Phosphates were much more stubborn and I eventually resorted to lanthanum chloride. I have a maintenance amount auto-dosed daily, then a corrective amount manually dosed whenever test in order to get it from 0.5+ to 0.1.
