What kind of urchin is it? I've got a Caribbean black rock urchin (Arbacia sp.) that doesn't touch it at all.My urchin too...
100%.Mine is growing now. In my experience it seems to do better under a more standard, or blue, spectrum than when it was under a pink/red refugium light.
Anyone else having that, or maybe it was a coincidence things got better after I moved it?
I have the same experience- I switched out the refugium light over the burning bush to a regular spectrum reef light just because it looks nicer, and also saw better growth after doing soMine is growing now. Use your spare kessil or radion in the sump. These burning red bush love blue or full spectrum. I can give you some before my rabbitfish eats them allUrchin found it and went to town. Until I get some lights for my sump I'm going to hold off
My tuxedo doesn’t eat it, just wears it, tearing it up in the process. It seems to be on its way out in my tank as well. Which is unfortunate - while I don’t need to carpet my tank with the stuff, I do still want a piece here or there
It's too busy eating the fresh bryopsis on the clear areasMy tuxedo doesn’t eat it, just wears it, tearing it up in the process. It seems to be on its way out in my tank as well. Which is unfortunate - while I don’t need to carpet my tank with the stuff, I do still want a piece here or there
Maybe i need an urchin hat to occupy him with
question - will a red grow light used for chaeto work or does it have to be blue/full spectrum?Use your spare kessil or radion in the sump. These burning red bush love blue or full spectrum. I can give you some before my rabbitfish eats them all
Mine didn't grow at all in red. That makes sense in that they color of a plant is based on light reflecting off it. Green plants don't really use green light. Red plants don't really use red light.question - will a red grow light used for chaeto work or does it have to be blue/full spectrum?
I currently have it in my fuge using a chaeto grow light.
