Been a while since I've updated this. I had an aptasia outbreak of plague like proportions. 12 peppermint shrimp and a file fish later I can't see a single one!!! Pretty stoked. I'm also slowly pulling all of my frag racks out and going bare bottom with frag discs and tiles instead of plugs. I'm happy with it.

if you do that, make sure you keep the floor clean or you will have GHA outbreak on the disc/frags

Think about adding crushed coral to areas of your sump for biological stability if you are going true bare bottom.

I have a 90 gallon sump on this 50 gallon frag tank. The sump has an 8×8×4 block and is full of crushed coral, rock and bio balls

I was skeptical about peppermint shrimp eating aptasia. I bought two and the apatasia was toast! Tried chemical killers in the past with no success. I’m a believer.

how long did the peppermint shrimp take to work. I have 9 now and the aiptasia are just getting worse!

The filefish is the single most effective and long lasting (and versatile) aiptasia control... One day, my remaining pair will spawn! ...i hope.

Mine took less than a week. I couldn’t believe it. The aptasia was about 3/4 inch taller . Only had maybe 6-8 that I could see.

This frag tank is finally starting to take off. All of the sps I recently added have fully encrusted the glue. Things are looking pretty good.
