That bank of tanks is a great idea. I want one.

Thanks Dave...I got a score deal on it and Gen did a great job cleaning it up for me. Truvu makes a similiar QT if you are interested.

I had a few hours to work on some plumbing. I added some tru unions to the drains (for further ease of disassembly) and finished the durso drains.

I wanted to fire up the water blaster, but I have a small leak where the bulkhead is in the sump. I'm going to have Gen patch it or I'll swing by Tap plastics and pick up a scrap and glue it myself.

I added sand and rock to the 40 gal fuge. I'm thinking of adding sea grass and a bunch of peppermint shrimp. I heard The Smithonian does that in their fuges, so they breed and their larvae feed the main display.

That's not a fuge. That's a second tank with a different biotope. :)
Very cool!

Note that the shrimp might wipe out the pod population that you would normally get in a fuge.
Which has its own set of pros/cons. But needs to be weighed against the shrimp larvae.

Ha, Ha. I'll have to take that into consideration when stocking. ;)

Been following your massive thread, very cool! I've also been thinking of going with some of the Hanna checkers and I would be curious to know what you think about the Milwaukee electronic refractometer after you get to using it for a while. Look forward to your continued posts and progress!

Thanks for tagging along Mike ! I'll give a review of the new toys once I break them in.

I got a chance to hookup the Water Blaster HY-16000 pump. It is indeed a beast, I have it dialed down probably 40%. I'll build a manifold to feed the skimmer & reactors and utilize the full potential of the pump. Also, it's quite a bit quiter than the hammerhead, but still audible. The test will be if the wife can hear it at night. :D
