I'm driving to Sac to pick up a Skimmer tomorrow.

Bubble magus 9+

Its small enough to fit in the refugium chamber of my sump. This way the Skimmer will be upstream from the refugium and the refugium will be larger.

What kind of clowns were you thinking? I have a pair of Ocellaris to help with the cycle if you’re not looking for anything specific.

I would like to get a black snowflake and a frostbite. I have tried to reach Kimmie's Clowns but no luck so far.

My daughter wants a pair of black & while clowns in the biocube, but I will probably limit her to one clown. She wants a Pajama cardinal and a six line too. That's a full tank.

I used this (in the 100g) to bring the ammonia up to 4ppm and did the initial dose of brightwell aquatics StartXLM bacteria. Brightwell says it will take 7 days to bring ammonia and nitrate back to 0.

Is there enough room on the right and left side to get a cleaning magnet in? It looks tight, but might be ok there. I like the branched look you have going.

Keep in mind the coral you put on the sides will grow and obstruct the scraper pretty quickly if it’s too close, happened to me
Yeah. The plan it to put an encrusiting coral on the very tip of those branches to somewhat prevent anything from growing into the glass.

I feel like I could have done better but it was hard to come up with much of a plan.

This would have gone a lot better with some Marco rock. Half of the stuff I have is really dense.

Better shot of the rocks. The branch on the front right is actually the closest one to the glass, still room to spare for a cleaner but it wouldn't take much for a coral to start growing on the glass.

Was going to buy a T5 hybrid fixture while I was in Sac but it didn't work out.

Got a bubble magus curve 9+. A little disappointed that the dimensions on BRS for this Skimmer are WRONG so it won't fit in the smaller chamber of my sump. Still fits in the bigger one just fine but I wanted to use that one as the refugium.

I'm going to design and start 3d printing baffles to turn the 20g long tanks into AIO systems. One will be for fish QT for sure. I thought about using the other for a coral QT tank. I like another members idea of a rock nem breeding tank though.

I picked up a jebao return pump yesterday. Went to home depot for plumbing bits and of course couldn't find everything I needed.

Ordered some fittings online, they should be here Thursday. Water following through the sump by this weekend.

You know when they say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Well, that's boring.

I like what maxspect has done with their new skimmers by adding a stationary ring of posts bordering the needlewheel. The thought process is that it helps chop the bubbles into smaller ones. It might be PR hype. I half expect the 3d printed posts to break and hopefully it doesn't damage the impeller.

Is that needle wheel really printed? I'd expect it to be extruded or something.

No. The needlewheel on the impeller is stock, extruded. Probably abs.

I am printing my outer ring right now. I'll post a Pic when it's done and mounted. If it fails, I might print it with nylon.
