My first test print with the biocube roller mat is a perfect fit. I have a handful of projects going on this week but I'm hoping to get some time this week to finish it.

This convo got me working on building one too. I currently have https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5283760 printing (with some modifications https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5777312). Really curious to see how yours turns out. The electronics for the one I'm basing it on seem stupid simple (basically a float switch and a dc motor), so if you want to go that way for $10 you can probably port that design over to yours.

I was trying to sketch out a nautilus gear set to drive a roller mat.

Once the 100g tank is at my office, I can use the Bambu X1c to make some stuff for the tank. Top of the list is a custom roller mat to fit the dual filter sock chamber of my skimz sump. I plan on robbing as much from red sea as I can (I won't be selling it).

I got some glass fiber reinforced nylon. It prints this stuff so good that it feels like cheating.

This is what inspired me to make one for the biocube.

So, pistol shrimp suck. They are cool critters and partnered up with Mr Grumpy Gills but the shrimp are bullies. They steal coral and bury them. They kill small fish. They bully the emerald crab.

Other than that, I love them. They have a bunch of doors to their burrow and they just open and close them every day. The goby was barely surviving thanks to a crazy food aggressive clownfish but he is thriving with the pair of shrimp.

The cheapest rolls I could find. I had to cut them smaller but that was easy with a sharp kitchen knife.

Weekly biocube fuge harvest.

I need to get some better test kits. My N&P are undetectable with salifert.
