Just the suction cups that came with them. Works fine right now. I'm sure they will age and become hard.

Great Thanks... I was actually referring to where the sensors were located. Fresh tank and sump, sump only, fresh tank only etc. If i'm seeing this picture right both sensors are in your sump?

Nevermind... I see it. Thanks.

Yes, sorry :D LOL (what a ditz, referring to myself). I have them both placed in my sump. The lower sensor is for the water level control and the higher sensor is just for backup, in case the first sensor fails to turn the water off, the second one can catch it. It is the recommended instillation method per the company.

Sometimes I wish I were a blond. At least then I would have an excuse.

Salinity is 53.1??
Yep... PINPOINT monitors measure salinity via mS.

So for example...

53.0 mS = 35.0(ppt) or 1.0260 Specific Gravity - My Target
51.7 mS = 34.0(ppt) or 1.0252 Specific Gravity - My absolute Low End
54.4 mS = 36.0(ppt) or 1.0268 Specific Gravity - My absolute High End

I try to keep my range between 52.5 and 53.5 mS

What pump do you use to run your ATO? My ATO is going to need to travel about 1' up and 4' across. I have a few pumps to choose from but haven't decided which one to go with yet.

I have an Aqua Lifter. It only runs at 3 1/2 gallons per hour, so no sudden surge only a nice light flow. Max lift height is 30". It works great for this. One foot up no problem. I'm not sure about a 4 foot span though.

I want to thank you for using that long powerstrip. I ripped apart all my wires today, picked up a 4" 10 outlet powerstrip and put it all back together very neatly. Again thanks.............

Hey no problem. I love it because it really cleans things up. I can label each one so there is no questions if I need to unplug something and there is enough room on each outlet to put a timer on if you wanted to. And with the industrial rating the whole bar is heavy duty. I know you'll like it...

Thanks! I may pick up one of those. Right now I just have a handful of Maxi-jet adjustable flow pumps... real small ones. I like the aqua lifter though. Appreciate the response.

It will do 4' across no problem. I've had them pump about 15 feet horizontally before. It's only the vertical distance that's really limited.

To confirm is this the one that you use? Also for an ATO only pump is their anything better to use or is this the best thing I could be employing here? I know I can make a few different pumps work but I'm lookin for what is considered most efficient and durable. Thanks!

So I got a late start today on building the stand for my 20g ATO and 40g Frag Tank. Ended up playing 18 holes at the Coyote Creek Golf Course till about 2pm; which was nice. ;D As soon as I got home I jumped on it. I am making the heart of the stand out of very straight and well dried 4x4's and 3/4" plywood. Unfortunately once I got the stand together I put both tanks in and discovered I had limited my access to the 20g Long to a point that it would make it way too difficult to remove, service, etc. So to fix it, I needed to make a few cuts on the table saw to four different boards. Unfortunately the only way to cut them was to take the entire stand apart. :'( At least I put it together with wood screws. Oh well... so, the cuts are made now but I had not the energy or the heart to put it back together this evening. tomorrow then... :(

Yes, thats it. :) That pump is my only experience and it is quiet and gentle. It had good reviews when I checked it out at Marine Depot.
Thanks... I'll probably go ahead and pick one up to try out.

So here is the stand for the 40g Breeder Frag tank and 20g long ATO resevoir.

The cut out for the bottom section on this side is what caused me to half to take the whole thing apart yesterday. I will have an access door on this left side of the stand that will allow me to fill up the ATO resevoir and give me any access I might need to this tank.

So this is it... sitting close to where it will end up living. The top finished piece will be made of a 1/4" piece of Oak laminate board. This will bring it to the exact heigth of the other Stand.

With the tanks sitting in it. I have enough room around each tank to line the interior with the white water/mildew proof wall board.

I don't think that board is strong enough to support that tank without the crossbrace. You might want to test that first.
Thanks Phong... it's solid. I tested it today by stacking eight 45 pound disk weights in it and it didn't budge... which will be fairly close to the weight of the tank full. Its a 3/4" thick piece of plywood resting on four 4x4's spaced only 30" accross left to right and 12" accross front to back. The Plywood shelf has also been further braced with a 1/2" Oak back panel and will be further enforced with 1" oak bracing on the front side. All the weight will be along the perimeter of the board and I will have it enforced and braced all the way around. Thanks for the eye though... I have made it a habit to stack a bunch of weights on any stand i'm going to use to get close to the approximate weight of the full tank. I know it's saved me from disaster at least once.
