got ethical husbandry?

L/F leads on a possible frag swap location?

Hi. I work at Ohlone College Rentals Department. Neptune Aquatics referred me to this thread. I may have a few options that can work for your event. I have options that checks off all your needs and wants. It can be both indoors/outdoors with picnic tables and space for food trucks and non-livestock vendors. Livestock vendors that need temp control can be indoors. Plenty of very convenient parking (at $1-$4). Hit me up rentals(at)Ohlone.edu. These are beautiful spaces.
Dm sent!

Good afternoon - I'm in touch with Michael, but wanted to share some pictures. Currently there are two good options.

Fremont Location: Dining Hall picture: (There's a nice pond outdoor for overflow). Dining Hall Capacity seating is 200 and standing is 400.

Available tables and chairs as standard setup (no extra charges to use them, but only staff can move tables for liabilities).
3ft X 6ft Tables that can fit 6 chairs each = 12x
3ft X 3ft TALL tables that fits 3 high chairs each = 6x
30in X 8ft tables that can fit 8 chairs each = 6x

Newark Location:

We have 6ft folding tables and chairs available for special setup.

Both Locations have outdoor area for overflow and/or Food Truck/Booth. Eating can also be done inside via catering. Flexible spaces and we're underrated (not many know that we offer these types of spaces) so come check us out. Wet Floor? Easy clean with custodial support. Let us host your event.

Oh, and Parking Situation. Permit parking enforced 7 days week excluding spring, summer, winter break and District Holidays. $1 for 1hr, $2 for 2 hrs, 3+ hrs is $4 all day parking permit.

Those places look nice for a coral swap. If my vote counts for anything and we decide to go with one of these venues, I think Newark would be better since it's "kinda" in the middle of the bay.

I'm in on going communication with her at present. In addtion to following up with other options as well.

The entire Bod typically has a say on what venue is ultimately selected. It often comes down to a combination of location, price, availability, effort involved in setting up and tearing down, and overall logistics what all do we have to plan for and transport to the location to make a swap possible. In short there are lots of things that have to be considered.

Just mentioning that so everyone knows the location we ultimately book isn't left soley to one person's discretion (it's a group decision.)

Great location - both on the inside and on the map. I might move in there after the swap.

Guys…this is my sister. She’s giving the club about 45% off of what she normally charged for this space. Definitely should take it into consideration.

We'll be sure to say the event is sponsored by Neptune Aquatics then :D
LOL…nah its not necessary. But thank you for the gesture though! Just wanted to help a great group of coral nuts like me, that’s all. Thought the opportunity was a good fit. Eric and I had talked about it a while back but decision seems to never have reached so when I saw this thread I thought now is a perfect time to have her jump in the conversation. If it works for you guys, great. If not, no biggie, as long as you have options! Good luck with the search!

Thanks alot. We're definitely following up with her. We haven't officially booked yet but it's looking positive thus far.

You rock!

It was great seeing you the other week.
I'll be back soon.

Robert can sponsor my currently empty work fish tank. LOL Jk... On a professional note - Newark Location is a great choice because you essentially will be the only group there. Parking is easy, there's about 20 stalls each of men and women restrooms on the first floor alone. Nice areas to sit outsite and inside, as groups wait their turn and potential to expand your event and really make it stand out in the bay area (in the future if you choose us). Free guest Wifi, Air Condition, tons of natural lighting, easy to manage people-flow for registrations, etc, and a convenient side room available if needed for staff/volunteers. We are flexible if you need to set up a day or two prior to the event (scheduling permitting) - equipment dropff, etc. We create call-sheets specific to your event to ensure it goes smoothly and effortlessy, and dedicated, trained site supervisors at your service on the day of. The only thing is that food is not convenient (at either locations). I recommend at least a food truck or something - or ppl bring their own food/snack or doordash or drive about 3 mins to a plaza around the corner. There's a few vending machines inside, but that can only do so much.

Shameless plug: If you have any events that are looking for indoor or outdoor venue spaces, hit me up. We do all sorts of events by the community who utilize our spaces, including festivals with beer gardens, flea & night markets, biking events, Gigantic jumbotrons at the soccer field for sport watch parties, trainings, weddings, graduations, conferences. We'd love your business in supporting our humble community college and bringing some fun events and life to the Fremont/Newark area. Thanks for reading!
