Moving a new aquarium. How?

Hi all,
I have a new CDA 225G tank + stand coming in a couple weeks. How do people get them moved? My plan is to move everything in the middle of my office so I can do the build, then disconnect everything and move it to its final place (and reconnect the unions).

I understand I'll need suction cups and some strong people and I'm looking for success stories of people who have done that in the past. I'm in Livermore.

• What suction cup lifter did you use? Were you able to purchase at Amazon, then return them?
• How many people to move that tank?
• Where to find people to move aquariums? Moving company, hobbyists, LFS?

I'll leave the discussion about how to physically move the tank to others -- when I moved by 65g I just paid a contractor I had doing a remodel project $100 to have his guys carry it for me hah.

Note: A side benefit to paying LFS/mover to install is liability if something goes wrong.

Tip if you have hardwood floors:
Put empty stand exactly in final position.
Level it perfectly with shims, and glue shims to stand.
Then add lots of those felt furniture pads to shims and stand underneath.
At this point you can slide the stand + (empty) tank around fairly easily.
Set it all up completely in center of room, then just slide it in.
Plus, the felt allows for a tiny bit of give as things settle. And protects floors.

I do have hardwood floors that are on a concrete slab. Thanks for the furniture pad idea! That way I won't have to remove the tank from its stand.

I have suction cups and have done several moves. I'm in San Jose so I can definitely help when the time comes. 4 strong guys should be able to move it.

I can maybe help depending on timing. Me Eric and two other of our amazing strength can do it with suction cups. If you have stairs I recommend renting and appliance dolly.

No stairs, the aquarium will be in the garage it goes to the office downstairs. We’ll need to bring it through the front door. I’ll circle back here once the aquarium is here. Thanks all!

You do not want your helpers walking around carrying the tank if possible. That is where things go wrong.

When we moved my tank, we used 2 of the top ones, but the bottom one is what is referred to as an appliance dolly.
