Lights have been ramping up and I'm getting some fun green cyano, but everything seems fine, just unsightly until the sea star gets to a patch:

Colors starting to show on the SPS frags and the bleached Oregon tort (middle right) is recovering nicely. Same goes for that green with red polyped acro behind it:

Lots of mushroom action too:

Clams are doing fine so far in the sump and I do enjoy getting to look at them top down whenever I open the door:

Is your drain tough to get just right?
Not really, I just adjust the gate valve and it's dead silent. "Noisiest" things by far are the Vortech pumps and the plank when it turns on, but hardly noticeable slight hums. It does need an adjustment maybe once every couple weeks with just a slight turn.

I’m not a fan of the design. 2 drains but one stays dry right?
Yep, @Srt4eric was afraid too, but I haven't read about any issues online at all. The emergency definitely makes a loud noise when some water trickles over so it's a good audible indicator. The return chamber is pretty small too so it can't overfill the display as long as you don't exceed the sump's normal working level. Plus I have a water level sensor in the return and in the ATO chambers.

Snails can't get in since the teeth are recessed with two intakes, one below the water line, and one over.

Seems tricky to get it just right. I prefer a herbie style with the second drain taking a tiny bit of water. My client was having trouble getting it balanced and the surface wasn’t getting skimmed since water was going into the second drain a little. Sometimes the main gets some air pulled into it too if it’s not just right. It is quiet when it’s right tho!

Water clarity or something else? Hmm??! lol
I’ve been considering adding a clam or 2 to my tank to see if there would be a noticeable difference in water clarity.. but my concern was if it will be worth the increased consumption of Ca and dKH lol
Yes, it is worth it. Just place them somewhere safe where they won't get knocked around. Mine were always healthy until something knocked them over, so now I have my two on the substrate.

Moved the left structure to the middle to better have the SPS in the higher flow where the pumps collide. It was too much for the torches there. A week later the cyano is nearly gone:

I did move about 10 trochus from my other tank, so maybe they helped chomp it up.

Got a ton of these small snails in my sand. Probably a 100+. Hopefully a cerith species?

The stomatellas are breeding like crazy too. Under every frag tile there's probably 2-4.

Some close ups of some corals looking better:

Lastly a night shot of a shroom from the Kessil tour:

Tank is progressing nicely! Have you considered taking some of the fishes from the 90g TruVu breakdown and add them to this tank? 26+ year old Yellow Tang is like apart of the family at that age!
If I knew 6 months ago I would have. I've already got nearly every fish already and they're not species that typically tolerate conspecifics.

Most titanium heaters are complete garbage so I don't blame you.
Not sure I concur
But if most are garbage, which ones are NOT garbage?
I have roasted the power cord due to user error
I have many titanium heat elements with few problems
That said I do not perform water test

I've been using 2x 300W BRS titanium heaters for 4years on my system, so far no issues. Only issue was the rubber suction cups that started disintegrating so i just tooke them out.
