Where to start with Hydros

I see a lot of people in the FB forums use them. I think it’s hit or miss for some people. My controller cabinet won’t be in the same room as the WiFi router so I didn’t want to take the chance of it having signal issues.

I think they connect to each other. WiFi power strip links to a Hydros controller that’s connected to your WiFi network and then you can controller each individual outlet through the Hydros app. Similar to an app controlled smart power strip like Kasa.

I have had a wifi quad running for more than a year, no issues. Disconnected once after i made a mistake; but got it reconnected pretty easily.

do you just run a single 600W versus 2x 300W heaters (or 2 of some other wattage?)
 
Working on control cabinet right now. Any feedback on this layout before I start plugging stuff into it? I made sure to put Minnow at the bottom in case any leaks. There’s room to move it over to the left should I ever want to add another minnow. But didn’t want an empty spot right now while I don’t need another Minnow

Actually ignore this. I just realized I should mount my return pump and wave maker controllers in here too

I did something like this in my old setup, probably page 6 or so on my 168 journal if you want to see my stab at it. It ended up pretty densely packed but was good to get all the wires out of the sump. Having the face on a hinge, and the wires away from the sump were all perks.

Looks clean! Maybe put the button box on one of the side walls closer to the front of the cabinet, so you don't have to reach in so deep to press a button? And remember not to zip tie any cables for stuff like pumps that you can perform maintenance easier.
