I see a lot of people in the FB forums use them. I think it’s hit or miss for some people. My controller cabinet won’t be in the same room as the WiFi router so I didn’t want to take the chance of it having signal issues.I have run with 3 of them since last November and have not faced any issue except once in awhile one of them lost wifi connection; however, everything plug to them still running correctly/accordingly without issue.
I think they connect to each other. WiFi power strip links to a Hydros controller that’s connected to your WiFi network and then you can controller each individual outlet through the Hydros app. Similar to an app controlled smart power strip like Kasa. Are they Wi-Fi devices that connect to your home network, or they connect to each other?
I have had a wifi quad running for more than a year, no issues. Disconnected once after i made a mistake; but got it reconnected pretty easily.I kinda was thinking this too when I saw Tu’s post but I went back through the thread and a couple of people did say to get the WiFi strips to save money but other people said they didn’t like them and not to trust anything critical on them
do you just run a single 600W versus 2x 300W heaters (or 2 of some other wattage?)Just got a couple of Hydros wifi strips. Connected the first one without issue. Integrated into the collective, added the USB camera and the 600-watt heater (via aqualogic controller). No issues so far.
I run a single 600 watts for daily heating and 2 x 350 watts as backup.do you just run a single 600W versus 2x 300W heaters (or 2 of some other wattage?)
