    The element measure is for salinity of 1.026, you are using 1.0235-1.024 and that is why your readings are low. try increasing your salinity to 1.026 and retest and see what the true reading is.

    Acrylic can snap and break off when the structure is too heavy, fiberglass rod doesn't snap like acrylic does. Also sometime if the rocks get heavy on one side acrylic would bend and can be comes unstable.

    Darn it they tried to ripped me off ?? LOL ... I still like fiber glass rod better, they handle the weight of the rocks better than acrylic for me because I used lace rock with my structure and they are heavy.

    I used it all the time as long and you don't force it too much it will be fine. currently I use a ceramic bit and that works better but pricey. The regular bit gets dulled very fast even the softer rocks

    MAG doesn't get used up that fast, Salifert MAG test failed on me big time too so I wouldn't add anymore until you can confirm the reading with another test kit.

    For live Crabs you are better off boiling them right away and then put it in the fridge they are very good cold, you can keep them live but they will degrade and becomes less sweet. If you are planing to make some kind of seafood stew then make sure to clean the crabs really good before boiling...
