CUC in the external overflow - a good idea?

Agree with what @Kensington Reefer said. I treat it like an algae scrubber. I let bubble algae build up then remove once a month, leaving a little behind to continue growing. Easy export.

    Sicce SDC pump experience?

My Jebao does resume after power cut. I cut power from the wall at least once a week for water change.

    Thomas' 29G TruVu

I have the 2nd edition Reefi waiting to be added to the display. I talked my buddy into getting it last summer but now he is taking a break after a crash and gave me the light. Excited to add some different color and the spread to the current setup. I need to figure out a clever way to add it...

PE Mysis - Not their favorite food? - What does everyone feed? (Updated)

Hikari claims their mysis is sourced from brackish water. Is that a different source than the PE lake?

FREE 24' LPS Growout Contest - Dragon Soul Favia

@iani I notice the same with this coral in my tank but I was also blaming my horrible mounting. Since then, I have learned -from you here on BAR- to give nice epoxy conical boarder to expand down on easily. Took me two years to get from one polyp to now three. It is a cool coral for sure though...

    Sicce SDC pump experience?

They are too affordable. Joking aside, I run one for a return and have my vectra on the shelf for backup. My plan was to put the vectra onto the new tank after I shut down the old tank but I didnt really see a reason to do so because the Jaebo was working just fine. Or I was lazy. Both seem...

What did you get @ CFM?

Picked up a green slimer from the BAR booth. Thanks y'all! And three others. Cool no name smooth skin and forgot the names of the others almost immediately... Shoot. From Golden State I think the booth was called. Dipped in reef primer, de plugged, replugged and glued shut the leading edges...

How you know your a reef geek

Spinning may work better at keeping detritus from accumulating but I don't know if less detritus buildup is necessarily better.

Ceramic Blades for Tunze scratching the glass?

Concerns yes but have not seen any scratching in the few months I have been using them. I will definitely take a closer look though. My concerns are mostly when changing panels. Removing the blade side -to change glass panels- at an angle makes me nervous I might scratch. So I try my best to...

    Patio's IM 75 EXT

This weekend I tried clove oil euthanasia, for the first time, on my yellow tang. First dose did put them to sleep, then second dose finished the job. The fish did not thrash about with the first or second dose, which made things a little easier. The tang had gone blind early last summer. That...
