Fish are in the hospital tank at therapeutic level of .50 and salinity 1.021 starting sept 16. Took 5 days to bring levels up to .50 +. All fish seems to be doing well and eating. Treating Ich and Marine Velvet.

Update: After 16 days of copper treatment fishes are out of QT and placed into observation tank. They will stay there until the DT finishes fallow period which started September 8. Out of 6 fishes, lost 2 in QT ( 1 six line wrasse and 1 Blue-Eyed cardinal).

Some observations:

• The setup is loud, and for 16 days was not pleasant. Next time this need to be in the garage.
• The first few days the fishes seem to get stronger and eating and stayed strong throughout most of the QT. The last few days seems to be tougher on most of the fishes, so I pulled them after day 16 while the initial intention was a 30 day QT period.

Cross contamination:

• This list is soo long, there are so many ways you can cross contaminate without thinking because it's a part of your daily routine.

My new process for adding livestock.

• All new fish will come from LFS that QT fish, or go through QT process at home.
• All new corals and invertebrates will go into invertebrate/coral observation for 76days.

Looks like the fishes get to go back home for Thanksgiving.

Day 60 in the fallow period. 16 More days to go before adding fish back into the system.

• Good thing about being fallow for 60 days, baby trochus snails and large pod populations.
• Torch growth has been pretty good so I used a Dremel to frag a Hellfire. Look like I might need to frag it again soon, as I can see the new heads splitting again.

I believe it’s 45 days if your tank temperature is above 80.5+ (not exact on this number). My tank is around 76-78.

Unfortunately tank crashed while we were on vacation, heater couldn't handle the ambient room temperature without us being at home which caused it to continuously heat. When a heater is running continuously for 24hrs+, Inkbird turns off the heater. In a nutshell, the only survivors of 40-50 degree temperature for a weeks are a few snails and Zoas.

The funny thing is, we were discussing turning on the second heater that we recently purchased as backup. We decided against turning it on because we didn't want to add a new element into our tank without supervision for a few days as we have experienced faulty heaters before.

Huge bummer... I'm a big fan of two heaters that have integrated thermostats on the inkbird with one heater set to turn on before the other, making it less likely that both fail at the same time.

Added a few fish and corals: Borrowed Club's PAR meter to get some readings. 3 XR15 at 53% Intensity.

Current Status: 3/22/22

• Lucky enough to stay pest free.
• 1.026, 77-78F, phosphate .04, nitrate 1, alk 8.9, cal 475, mag 1455, PAR is a little low at 200-300 (will increase slowly).
• Added a few SPS to test out the waters. Hoping they stay alive for the next week or so. If they do, I plan on getting a few more.

QT/Observation system taken down and placed in garage storage. This will deter me from purchasing any new corals/fish. Will allow the tank to settle and establish with the current stock before adding more in the future. Tank Lockdown 4/11/2022

Approximately 3 weeks after dipping, frags are adjusting to lighting and flow. Some Acros are encrusting with polyp extensions, while some are taking longer to acclimate/adjust/

Closing off this tank build. With our new business opening soon in Walnut Creek, I no longer have the time to care for this tank. I do plan on getting a smaller office tank , so watchout for a new build thread soon.
