Got two RFAs today. This is the start of a garden.

Since our 55g tank has Ich and I’m bored out of my mind, I repurposed the unused Red Sea ATO reservoir into a frag tank. It’s going to hold frags destined for the new tank for the next 76 days.

I’m reading 0.5 Nitrite and 5 Nitrate today (it was 20 two days ago). I did nothing to reduce the latter - could it be that the Chaeto is starting to do its job?

Or test kits suck and the color is hard to read?
Hard to say. That seems fast unless you have a lot of chaeto with a lot of light for many hours a day

My PH is peaking around 7.9 and I’m still lights off (except for the fuge). Should I start thinking about ways to increase it before adding coral and turning the lights on?

Nitrites finally dropped to near zero.

Also increased the fuge light intensity and duration after studying the Apex graphs. I was being too conservative.

Zero Nitrites and the trigger is in. Not the flashiest of triggers but I absolutely love his personality.

Lights on and diatoms started. Valentino loves the camera. And food. Lots of food.

Here’s a picture of the whole crew. The Bird Wrasse got a fin nipped, but it looks like the scuffles are over.

It looks like my cabinet doors are swelling from the moisture - the sump section is always wet. Any suggestions? Should I try to add a fan to circulate the air?
