I’m having visions of Walmart Black Friday stampedes, shootings, fights. Hahahahaha.
20 years ago before Amazon and online shopping took over the electronics market I stood in line after Thanksgiving dinner for a few hours to buy a large screen TV at BestBuy. I only did that once but it was a very memorable and fun time since it was like a subdued party waiting along with my friends and the other shoppers. Very different retail environment nowadays unfortunately. I got a killer tv that night decades ago!

They had about 30-40 yellow tangs and not everyone wanted one so everyone that was there when they opened and 20 mins after got one lmao.

I do recall Walmart doing that bs as a kid with tvs.

100s of People camped out overnight lol only to learn they literally had just 2 tvs.

Fair representation of ur pic.

It is a good deal for those who get the deal though :)

One deal I messed up on was BRS had a sale on Nyos Salt + ATI ICP test for 50% off last week. I hesitated and within a few hours the deal was sold out. I would have otherwise bought 5 buckets + ICP at a massive discount. The fact that I didn’t get to purchase doesn’t negate the fact that it was a great deal!
To each his own. I respectfully disagree on both points. That was my point.

A deal you can’t or don’t realistically get is worse than if it never existed. It used to be very common for retailers to do these loss-leaders and true door-busters with people lining up and knocking other shoppers over etc. I hate them. I like it when there is an advertised sale and I get the item on sale without being rushed or overly inconvenienced. But that’s just me. Some people like to be rushed and inconvenienced, that’s part of the fun for them I think, chasing the deal or being the lucky one who gets it. Like I said, to each his own.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What we all can agree though, is that pricing these corals by polyp seems to not a good deal, haha :).

I have a problem with the Vermetid Snails on their corals. My eyes are not what they used to be so when I asked if the dark thing on the coral I was buying was a Vermetid Snail the guy working their flat out lied to me and said it was algae. When I got it home and put it under a magnifying glass it was a Vermetid snail going right though the center of the Candy Cain Coral. That coral had been in Quarantine for 4 months now. Vermetid snails keep growing out of that thing like a bad horror movie. Every 2 weeks I scrub them off and dip it in Peroxide and every two weeks there are 2 or 3 more.

That reminds me of my Yelp review for Violet Aquariums in San Jose, when they sold me this mummy eye chalice…

They probably also could have been wrong instead of lieing for the sake of selling a candy cane that does t actually matter to them either way. I get it that vermetids suck, but best not to assume people are acting in bad faith on purpose. Maybe they aren’t that experienced or don’t see as well either.

All of the power back ups seem to be at their lowest price point - Ecoflow/Jackery/Bluetti not trying to duplicate my other post but since it is a very important but no fun reef equipment item, I thought it deserves to be mentioned here.

Post in thread 'Alternative power back-up solutions (not Ecoflow brand)'
https://www.bareefers.org/forum/thr...solutions-not-ecoflow-brand.39492/post-564799

My journal states why I decided to switch brands.

Aquabiomics.com is having a BF sale on their test. 25% off till cyber Monday.

What do you guys think about the 2 different aquabiomics tests? One tests bacteria and archaea and the other tests eukaryotes. Each is $99. I guess I find it somewhat annoying that if you are trying to get a picture of what’s going on in your tank or troubleshoot issues, you’d be getting both since you can’t tell which branch of life your microscopic problem is coming from. Anyone have direct experience with them and recommend or not?
