Never replaced the lights. The tank has only been up 8 months...

I would stop topping off with Saltwater, normaly one tops off with RO/DI because the salinity will go up if you always add SW.

I would test what your putting in the tank that mifght be the whole issue right there.

You can and most likely should shorten the phtoperoid, at least until you get control of your algae issues, your pretty much running the max per day at this point.

Nothing to do with the algae but check your salinity. You should not top off with salt water but with fresh water.
If you can read phosphates with a test kit they are too high. Reduce feeding, do weekly or bi-weekly water changes, run a phosban reactor... All these should help bring down the phosphates. Having a reading for phosphates and all the algae consuming phosphates, that's way high.

That treats the symptom, not the source of the problem. We need to get down to why his tank is having issues first.

There have been a few suggestions to correct potential problems. Lets see how they work out first :)
