Our mission

My Jellyfish Journey

It’s up and running! I threw in a little blue legged crab and 3 mini brittle stars to help clean up the tank. I’ll probably throw a piece of shrimp in there today and test this week. If no ammonia, then jelly time!

I also hatched my first batch of baby brine shrimp (bbs). Super easy with the little hatchery. The fish in the reef loved em.

Added a chunk of shrimp yesterday and tested today. Looks like no cycle started or is needed so far. I’ll give it another week and a half to two weeks before ordering jellies.

Using leftover cheap tests because I’m not trying to be as precise as my reef.

@Rostato I love your idea of cycling media in your reef tank sump. How long did you leave it in there? Our tank has had water continuously for a few years but could use a good cleaning, tubing tune up, and possibly new media before adding new jellies.
