Rescuing livestock just enables and encourages them to continue their bad practices.

That said, I did rescue a dog face puffer from PetCo once. My only excuse was that it was before I joined BAR. Well, and it had such a sad face.

It’s up and running! I threw in a little blue legged crab and 3 mini brittle stars to help clean up the tank. I’ll probably throw a piece of shrimp in there today and test this week. If no ammonia, then jelly time!

I also hatched my first batch of baby brine shrimp (bbs). Super easy with the little hatchery. The fish in the reef loved em.

did you add any existing water from your tank? that will have some bacteria in it to help cycle.

@Rostato I love your idea of cycling media in your reef tank sump. How long did you leave it in there? Our tank has had water continuously for a few years but could use a good cleaning, tubing tune up, and possibly new media before adding new jellies.
