From my experience:

1. I would run them with the cord down. I had my lid slightly off my tank once, with water on it while cleaning. The drips dripped down right onto my MP dryside. Because I had the cord up, the drops then went into the little, apparently not water proof, cord area and killed my MP. Super lame.
2. I would not trust just the sticky + ziptie. I had that on my MP40 on my peninsula. One day, probably again while cleaning, they dry & wetside detached from each other. The dryside then immediately crashed to the floor and got screwed up, because the backup holder popped off the aquarium wall. Super lame.

I now just buy the jebao equivalent. Not sure the suction cups solve all problems, but at least they can solve some problems and are way cheaper for the same thing.

Separately, if you ever want to try and find a 3d print, try yeggi.com. Example: https://www.yeggi.com/q/ecotech+cradle/

I’ve never had an issue when I’ve used two of the stickies with zip ties. Rimless tanks make me nervous about drips sometimes for sure.

I have older white mp40s where the cords are coming out of the dry side (held togetherby tape). So using card ties is a no go. Can't have it held up by card at all. Only relying on magnets themselves to hold them up.

These holders would hold the dry side themI hope

You have the thickness set correctly right? They are holding well and you just want a backup?

No, I'm trying to say where the cord goes into the dry side motor is very worn out. Held by tape. I wanna eliminate the weight of them being held up by the cord using the little sticker with zip tie things. Hoping that if the thing in Pic above can support weight of motor the cords won't have that weight load considering their fragile current conditions. Just wanna make them last as long as possible. If I'm making some sense.

I hear you. I don’t know if you hear me. Do you know how to adjust the thickness of the old dry sides?

Not sure what you mean here by thickness.

So I probably don't know lol
There should be different thickness spacers for whatever glass thickness you have

I would if I wasn't in the middle of moving and had all my machines offline.
