Cali Kid Corals

The 225 Gal Monster

That's an awesome amount of variety
Mixed reef has always been my goal. It definitely hasn't been easy. I do still have a few leathers in there too but am always ready to pull them if I see any SPS show bad signs. Zoas get eaten by Asterina stars which I'm ok with as I'm not really interested in keeping zoas in this tank. But I did add a Harelquin shrimp as I felt the Asterina population was getting out of hand.

I definitely developed a deep grudge against asterinas after they ate the gmk zoa I attempted 2 weeks after I got it. My 32 has always been a mix reef. But I've
been considering converting it over to euphyllia/ leather tank. The 15 is mostly mushrooms/ zoas. The 65 i'm planning mainly sps. More so on the road to learning more and challenging myself. So I can see if I can get the entire tank aimed at sps. Your tank though is very encouraging lol like goal to reach towards.

Thanks! Let me know if you can ever make it out my way and I'd love to show you the tank in person and give you a tank tour of my frag tanks/qt systems too.

Just caught up on this build Arvin. Looks great!
If you're in need of tools, I've probably got what you need (tablesaw, par meter, etc), you're welcome to borrow, and I'm right here in CV.

Tank hasn't been doing so well after months of having equipment failures skimmer was dead, one XR30 died and then alk went up to 15 from a malfunctioned kalk doser while I was away for my son's basketball for a week. Finally got temp lights to replace the dead Xr30 and a new pump for the skimmer. Gonna let the tank cruise, send out an ICP and correct trace elements and go from there.

I pulled most of my Euphylia before that all happened and just haven't been up to the task of getting it back on track until just recently. Doing coral shows and running thr biz kept me occupied.

wow, great build and write up. any tips on siliconing the eurobrace? I'm considering adding eurobracing to a rimless redsea 425xl, mainly to keep water from sloshing over, not for structural reasons.

Thanks! If the tank is wet already then you'll have to find a way to keep it supported while curing. If it's no structural, I would just use clamps and just be sure to to clamp down too hard so you don't squeeze out all of the silicone. Do the 2 short sides first then once that is fully cured do the 2 long sides. You may need to leave clamps on the short side while the long sides are curing so they don't try and sag on the inside edge.
