Theres two reported G2 tank failures on this thread by two different people of which one @MarcosD was trying to get the sn number.. The dates are different from the original thread compared to the data above on that g2 so maybe different tank? Just wondering

Marcos was able to grab the actual SN label of one tank that was claimed to be G2. It wasn’t. It was a G1. He posted it this thread earlier.

I think we have all seen enough Red Sea failures and enough people have been banished from the Red Sea FB group who have posted about a failure to reasonably conclude that these are absolute garbage tanks and should be avoided at all costs unless you’re looking to add an indoor saltwater wading pool to your homes esthetic

Yeah the fact that they delete any "negative" comment - even if it's not exactly negative but references any weakness/structural integrity is very telling, they don't want to get dogpiled I guess.

I got one that’s a G2 from Reef2Reef. Forgot to post here because this thread had died down

Thank You but unfortunately this is of no use to me. These data are not definitive proof the failed tanks were G2. It has to be actual labels from the tank itself.

It always blows my mind seeing these failures on super super high end tanks meanwhile my cheapo petco tanks made in 2008 are without issue

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to look at the serial number and determine if the tank is a G1 or G2. Unlike the labels provided in this thread, mine does not have reference to a "v" - it is just a single string of numbers. Thanks

From the labels I’ve seen, G2 will have a QR code and say G2. ie “Red Sea Reefer 300 G2”
