When I played with 3d printing line loc. I always had to fine tune the print. There’s OG line loc and a few knock offs that are mm smaller or bigger.
It was printed in cf-asa. Nothing I print for tanks are in pla.Did this get printed in PLA? I have some PETg ones that fit anything from a 1/4” to 3/4” LocLine.
If anyone has a 1” LocLine I’d love to test fit one.
That rfg was designed to be printed in tpu, the flexible rubber filament. I was having problems with my extruder at that time. I'll print you new rubber ones.@Srt4eric The ½" RFG I got from you cracked when trying to put them on the loc-line.
Also, have you ever printed the loc-line pieces before?
Why asa? Pla works fine for decorative stuff. Asa is super brittle, esp in water. It was printed in cf-asa. Nothing I print for tanks are in pla.
Pla breaks down in saltwater and isn't reef safe. Why asa? Pla works fine for decorative stuff. Asa is super brittle, esp in water.
I have blue and black tpu up in the printer. I’m going to print a few nozzles in tpu now. lol
Isn't PLA used in bio pellets? Those definitely are degraded by bacteria over time in reef tanks.View attachment 60877YSK. I have a background in materials. Esp plastics. ASA absorbs water
ETA: UV is the major killer of all these plastics. And PLa is technically water safe. It’s corn based and “shouldn’t” leech anything into the tank. And it breaks down and forces people to buy more deco items
PLA is considered one of the more eco friendly plastics since it can breakdown in 50 years.
no idea. I’d assume it’d be a porous media.Isn't PLA used in bio pellets? Those definitely are degraded by bacteria over time in reef tanks.
I do have 1" LocLine for a new build. I can bring it with me to the swap if you want to test fit it.Did this get printed in PLA? I have some PETg ones that fit anything from a 1/4” to 3/4” LocLine.

Cool! Thank you. That rfg was designed to be printed in tpu, the flexible rubber filament. I was having problems with my extruder at that time. I'll print you new rubber ones.
Definitely. I’m thinking TPU this time to cover more range of size. barring no extruded jamsI do have 1" LocLine for a new build. I can bring it with me to the swap if you want to test fit it.
Hey...I was wrong about the locline size. Sorry.Definitely. I’m thinking TPU this time to cover more range of size. barring no extruded jams
I would be intrested in one of these for a mp 40, and 2 for mp 10s. Didn't know these existed. I guess it would be very helpful for not droping the dry sides, something I've done once or twice. As i don't even have the little glass sticker that holds the dry side wire since mine were all purchased used.I could use 2x MP40 holders and a DI resin packing plunger.
Anyone have the file for the wide flow guard here too? https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/limpet-wide-flow-pump-guard-vortech-mp40-upgrade-niche3d.html
@Darkxerox did you ever find the file for this?I would be intrested in one of these for a mp 40, and 2 for mp 10s. Didn't know these existed. For the limpet? I think @Srt4eric found it@Darkxerox did you ever find the file for this?
